The Paris Masters is the biggest indoor hard court Masters 1000 tennis tournament at the Accor Arena in Bercy, Paris, France. This tournament is the final Masters 1000 of the year and is typically held just before the ATP Finals. The first event, formerly known as the Paris Open, was held in 1986 and evolved from the French Indoor Championships.
In 1989, its popularity led to the tournament being placed in the top ranks of the Tennis Masters (now the ATP Masters 1000). The hard-court event is currently the only indoor ATP Masters 1000 event.
In the most recent elite men's tournament of the season, the Paris Masters, players did their best to maximize their ranking points as they fight for a place at the prestigious ATP Finals later in the year.
