The United Cup is a brand-new ATP and WTA combined event that was held for the first time in 2023. It will replace the ATP Cup, which was played between 2020 and 2022.


The 4th edition of the tournament will start the 2026 tennis season and will be held in two Australian cities: Perth and Sydney.

When does the United Cup begin?


The United Cup 2026 tennis event will begin on 2 Jan 2026 and end on 11 January 2026 in Australia. 


The three other tennis tournaments will also take place during the same week: Hong Kong, Brisbane, and Auckland


Which nations have played in 2026?


In the 2026 United Cup, a total of 18 nations will play in Australia. The six countries' qualification is based on the ranking of their top player in the ATP rankings, six on the ranking of their top player in the WTA rankings, and six on the best ranking of their top men's and women's players.


Australia will automatically qualify as the host country, no matter how well their best players are ranked. These 18 countries have been confirmed to take part in the first tournament.

United Cup 2026 Format


The 18 countries will be divided into six groups of three, and each of the three host cities will host two groups.


Two singles matches and one mixed doubles match will be played in the day session of each group match, while two singles matches and one doubles match will be played in the night session.


The two semifinalists will play in the 2026 United Cup final.

The entire prize pool for 2026 will be AU$17,000,000; however, the breakdown of the money is not yet decided.
