The WTA Elite Trophy is a women's tennis competition held at the end of the year for players who have barely missed qualifying for the WTA Finals. In 2015, the inaugural event was played, and the singles title champion was Venus Williams, while the doubles winners were Liang Chen and Wang Yafan. The competition was held in Zhuhai, China, from 2015 through 2019. The competition was not held in 2020, 2021, or 2022 due to the pandemic. The WTA Elite Trophy 2023 will take place from October 24-29, 2023, in Zhuhai, China. During the same week, fans can watch a few other tennis events, including the Swiss Indoors Basel and the Erste Bank Open.
The single competition includes 12 players divided into four groups; each group has three players. Each player will compete with their group players for one time. Each group champion will advance to the semifinal, whereas the final will be decided by the winner of each semifinal match.
The doubles event includes six teams, which are divided into two groups, and each group has three players. The champion of the group will play in the final match.
